SE winds build gradually into the early PM for most sites, followed by some decay and late veering tendencies...

Tomorrow a modestly defined cool boundary approaches the waters, comfortably distant to the west. There is coastal Low pressure in play, with a weak center of depth and a poorly defined warm boundary moving ahead as the feature rapidly approaches from the Mid-Atlantic states and transits the waters late. Ahead of the Low, SE flow develops, but persistence is in question, and will depend a great deal on the definition of the Low pressure center and the precise track it follows.

 •  Modeling solutions are in fairly close general agreement for the AM period. The PM is another story, with some guidance depicting temporary transitional chaos in the mid- to late afternoon. Please check back in the morning for clarification.

 •  Precipitation is likely for all locales, particularly in the afternoon hours. There's not much heat available or vertical movement expected, so expect little in the way of disrupted wind production.

 •  With this setup Pleasant Bay / Chatham sites are most likely to show / hold slightly more energetic numbers.

 •  With a slightly delayed progression, eastern sites in particular may not experience the veering trend until after nightfall. See more on this with tomorrow's 7AM update.
